Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick

Another shrine from Co. Limerick - this one a grotto in the grounds of the Church of the Assumption on the Main Street.


The coursed dressed stone is unusual.
I wonder is the grotto the same date as the church (1966-68).
Of course, it could be from either of the Marian years. There's no mention on the otherwise very informative http://www.limerickdioceseheritage.org.



Very similar to Finglas, but not identical.

Figure of Saint Bernadette depicted with staff and rosary beads.
